Thin poha is a type of flattened rice that is dry-roasted or deep-fried for chivda a beloved dry snack with countless varieties.
Thin poha can be soaked in hot water and then cooked on the stovetop along with spices and vegetables such as peas and carrots.
For making chevda - the flaked rice snack:
Thin poha can be roasted in the oven by spreading it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and roasting in a preheated oven at 350 ° F for 15 minutes or until they become crispy. You can also roast it on the stovetop by using a wide pan and heating it on low flame. Add poha in a thin layer and dry roast until it becomes crispy. Do not stir constantly or too much otherwise thin poha will break. Instead just shake the pan or stir once or twice.
