Organic Chana dal is also known as bengal gram. It is made by splitting whole organic chickpeas and removing the outer layer. Chana dal is a staple item in every Indian household and is also very popular with those with diabetes as Chana dal has an extremely low glycemic index. Chana dal looks very similar to yellow split peas, but is very different in taste and cooking.
