Sona Masoori Rice is a fragrant rice that is light and easy to digest that was created by crossing Sona with Mahsuri rice. It is predominantly utilized in South Indian cuisine and is mostly farmed in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka. Sona Masuri rice is referred to as Bangaru Theegalu in Telugu (meaning Golden Ivy).
